Are you an experienced and highly motivated professional seeking an exciting opportunity to make a real impact in a small primary school? Look no further! We are currently seeking a talented and dedicated Office Manager to join our dynamic team and contribute to the smooth running of our rural school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage school finances and budget: You will oversee financial operations, ensuring accurate record-keeping, monitoring expenditure, and preparing financial reports. Your meticulous attention to detail will help us optimise resources and make informed financial decisions.
  • Personnel and payroll management: As the Office Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating personnel matters, including recruitment, contracts, and HR administration. You will also handle payroll processing, ensuring timely and accurate payment for our dedicated staff.
  • Office support: A true multitasker, you will provide comprehensive administrative support assisting with correspondence, scheduling, and maintaining office supplies. Your exceptional organisational skills will keep our school running smoothly. 

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Proven experience in a similar role, preferably within an educational setting.
  • Proficiency in financial management, budgeting, and financial reporting.
  • Strong knowledge of personnel management and HR practices.
  • Familiarity with payroll processes and systems.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in using office software and administrative tools ideally including FMS6 and Arbor.

Mersham Primary School is situated in an attractive village south east of Ashford, just off the A20. This highly successful, popular and friendly rural school currently has 180 pupils on roll, drawn from Mersham itself, the surrounding villages, Ashford and beyond. The playing field and grounds have been substantially developed and resourced to provide exciting opportunities for staff to enhance the entire curriculum through regular Outdoor Classroom activities.
