We are looking to appoint a 1:1 teaching assistant to support our children reach their full potential.

The main responsibility in this post will be to provide one-to-one support for a KS1 pupil. You will be the caring adult that is available to them at all times to help them develop the vital skills of safe and happy learning, communication and play with other children.

The right candidate will be able to demonstrate experience of supporting children with emotional and behavioural needs and a good understanding of social communication difficulties.

You will be working with the class teacher and colleagues to maintain a safe and consistent learning environment. The role will require a high degree of emotional literacy and commitment, but has the potential to be hugely rewarding.

This is a very rare opportunity in a friendly, small, school where relationships between children, staff and parents are our strength.

This post will include morning and lunchtime break duties. The position is for the duration of the funding received by the school to support this pupil. 

In order to qualify for interview, SEN and classroom experience will be needed.

St. Teresa's Catholic Primary School is a single form entry school, based in Ashford, and serving the Parish of St Teresa of Avila, Ashford and the local area. St Teresa’s is a successful, friendly school situated in beautiful grounds close to Ashford town centre where people feel welcomed and cared for. Over time, the school has had consistently good judgements in all inspections including in its most recent Ofsted inspection (January 2020) and denominational inspection (March 2020).

We are proud to be part of a thriving community, that is well supported by our parents and families and the local parish church. Our children are regularly involved in church life.
