We are looking for a Teacher of Autism to join a vibrant, hard-working, excellent team of teachers on a fixed term contract from 2nd January 2024 until 24th July 2024.

Temple Hill are looking for a Teacher to lead a class of fantastic pupils with severe and complex needs within our Lighthouse provision for children with autism. There are 8 wonderful young people and 6 committed members of support staff in this developing provision with children in year groups 2-5. Our Waves class have a bespoke classroom and break out spaces, with a sensory room, as well as a great garden space directly outside the classroom.

We welcome a visit to meet the children and the team as always.  

 Skills for the job itself:

  • We are open to unqulaified teachers (who have relevant experience), newly qualified or highly experienced teachers
  • High standard of Maths, English and a passion for a Curriculum subject is required
  • Positive team players who are resilient, adaptable and understanding should apply.

Temple Hill Primary Academy has nearly 900 pupils from Nursery to Year 6 with a Specialist Resource Provision for children with Speech & Language needs (SLCN). We also offer a short-term Nurture placement for children with Social, Emotional, Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties.  29% of children have special needs and 40% of children receive Pupil Premium funding, we pride ourselves on the high quality provision we offer to all children especially those in vulnerable groups.

We received a Good Ofsted in June 2019, we are now striving to achieve Outstanding. We have a dedicated supportive work force on all levels and every staff member is valued at our school. We have excellent opportunities for growth within our school and the wider Trust, and staff members have grown from supporting classes to Assistant Head Teachers.
