Ripplevale School and College is seeking an Emotional Wellbeing Assistant to join the existing team.

The successful person will be a self-motivated problem solver who has an empathic understanding of mental health issues and behavioural patterns. An interest in Sport  or experience in Sport Therapy will be essential as part of the role will be to run small group Sport Therapy sessions.

The person will need to be intuitive and astute in seeing beyond what is being said and have regard for the young person to build a trusting relationship that will withstand the obligation of reporting to safeguarding but remain confidential and follow Data protection.

You will need to have resilience to withstand what you hear and to not be affected by it or to become too involved within it. You will need to be able to trust your instinct and act on it, to know what is best for students and above all cause no harm by being professional, fair and impartial.

Team working is key, to be able to share best practice, support each other and to report back to the EWB manager of all wellbeing concerns.
