Folkestone Academy is looking for an exceptional Transition Pastoral Leader to join our team. This is a permanent position and would suit a graduate considering teacher training in the future / or an individual with pastoral experience.

Role Purpose: 

  • To support the personal development, learning and welfare of the pupils
  • To ensure pupils have a happy and successful transition experience.  
  • To ensure good order, discipline and appropriate behaviour  
  • To be the main point of contact as the Pastoral and Learning Leader for the year group 
  • To maintain high standards of attendance (aim is 96%). 

The successful candidate will:-

  • Contribute towards the Academy's and Trust's vision and ethos
  • Enjoy completing their work in a professional and positive manner, relish solving problems and take pride in helping people
  • Have a genuine passion and belief in the potential of every pupil
  • Have strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrate honesty and integrity
  • Be highly motivated and have a flexible approach towards work and working hours
  • Have knowledge of and experience of working with external agencies and voluntary groups is desirable
  • Candidates will have either: a strong academic track record to degree level/suitable qualifications /experience in pastoral care.
