Job Description

Due to a successful expansion in our schools, we are looking to employ a Band 5 Speech and Language Therapist to work full-time - term time only. Monday to Friday 8:45am – 3:45pm plus inset hours, currently 2 hours on a Tuesday. The post may cover two sites, Ripplevale Upper School in Ripple and Ripplevale Lower School in Broadstairs, however, this is negotiable and may be based over one area for the right candidate.

We are looking for an innovative and passionate SaLT specialist, who is looking for an exciting post in a well-established SEN Independent school. You will be responsible for assisting in the SaLT provision for students from primary aged children through to Post 16 with Autism and or SLCN needs. You will be a self-starter working as part of a multidisciplinary team, delivering SALT and communication interventions. You will monitor and report on the SALT provision for individuals and groups of students, identifying any SALT needs, devising provision plans and delivering the best outcomes for all our students. 

We would ideally like someone with experience working in a school setting or with a paediatric population, but will consider recently qualified therapists.

Information about the school

Ripplevale School is an independent day SEN school for pupils aged from 6 to 18 years old who have an EHCP (Education Health Care Plan) with a diagnosis of ASD, often with associated conditions.

Ripplevale School is situated over two sites. Ripplevale Lower School is situated in Broadstairs, teaching a Primary provision and Ripplevale Upper School is based in the village of Ripple near Deal, for our Secondary and Post 16 provision.

We have a committed and dedicated team which includes teachers, teaching assistants, higher level teaching assistants, a range of therapists, administrative staff and support staff. All play a significant role in the education and development of each pupil and work to create a warm, informal, friendly atmosphere in which the pupils feel secure, safe and confident.
