The Assistant Principal (Behaviour, Attendance and Safeguarding) has delegated responsibility for student emotional development and welfare at Goldwyn School.  You will be passionate to break barriers for our vulnerable students with emotional needs.

To ensure that our staff remain at the cutting edge of educational thinking and practice we offer a wide range of professional development opportunities, you will support us in implementing the highest quality ‘whole child curriculum.’

 The role involves

  • Empowering staff with inclusive teaching approaches – coaching consistent approaches across all Goldwyn sites
  • Interpersonal skills to act as an advocate for our students with multi agency partners such as the Local Authority, CAMHS, Social Services and Youth services.
  • Attendance: monitoring whole school attendance – supporting re-engagement programmes and student centred planning to increase attendance for students with prior poor engagement.
  • Safeguarding: you will lead our weekly safeguarding meeting bringing DSLs from across our schools together to ensure consistency and a robust approach to putting safeguarding at the heart of all we do.

Goldwyn is an outstanding and unique secondary (11-18) SEMH special school in Kent, operating over 4 sites in Ashford and Folkestone, with each site running its own distinctive educational pathway.

We are a highly regarded and successful school which has expanded its provision to meet the needs of our increasingly complex and vulnerable students.

Goldwyn School is a KCC Foundation Special School for children and young people with an EHCP for SEMH needs from age 11 to 18. Students who are admitted to the school have complex and wide ranging difficulties and come from a wide range of socio-economic backgrounds and a wide geographical area.
