We looking to recruit an enthusiastic and dedicated individual as our Attendance and Family Liaison Officer. As FLO, you will work closely with the DSL and Children & Families Manager to provide targeted support to our children and families in a variety of areas in order to improve their learning outcomes. Safeguarding and pupil welfare are at the heart of everything that we do here, so this role will be integral to our school community.

The role involves but is not limited to:

  • Working with the DSL and Children & Families Manger to monitor and address attendance concerns and implement strategies to support pupils and families in improving attendance.  
  • Establishing and fostering excellent relationships with pupils and families at the school and encouraging good home - school communication.
  • Supporting pupils with challenging behaviour.
  • Working with the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) to monitor and manage safeguarding concerns in the school.

Information about the school

Rowhill School is a day special school designated for pupils with Social Emotional and Mental Health difficulties. The school currently has approximately 160 pupils on roll, between the ages of 5 and 16. Pupils have a wide range of needs, including communication and interaction difficulties, as well as behavioural, social and mental health needs. We also provide an Alternative Curriculum Provision for KS4 pupils, providing tutoring, both on and off site.

The Dartford STLS teaching service also forms part of the schools structure.

Our staff work closely with pupils to create an ethos of care, respect and success. At Rowhill, we feel strongly that our pupils are entitled to a broad, balanced, inclusive, relevant and learner-focused curriculum, which will develop the young people to be lifelong independent learners.
