Exam Invigilator

We require an Exam Invigilator to join our established Exams Team at Goodwin Academy supporting with the busy exam periods. Exam Invigilators maintain the integrity of examinations in an environment that enables students to perform at their best.   They assist with setting up of exam venues, checking examination packs, assisting candidates and actively invigilating during examinations.

The successful candidate will be required to check attendance and record details as appropriate, therefore good interpersonal skills and an ability to deal with matters calmly, swiftly and firmly, are essential as are both written and verbal skills. Previous experience in working with secondary school age children would be a distinct advantage as would any previous supervision experience, although this is not essential.

You may be required to scribe/read for students for which full training will be provided.

Employment for this position is offered on a casual basis. Hours worked vary between 8.00 am and 5.30 pm. Exam sessions are up to three hours, so invigilation sessions may be up to four hours in some instances. You will be asked to attend a training session where full training for the role will be given.

What we can offer you:

  •  A newly built school with a stunning teaching environment and state of the art technology
  • Outstanding CPD tailored to you, wherever you are in your career
  • Reduced membership of a fully-equipped fitness suite and classes – located on the site of New Horizons Children’s Academy and Rochester Grammar School
  • Focus on staff wellbeing, including 24/7 Employee Assistance Programme, free flu vaccinations, eye care vouchers.
  • Membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme.
