1:1 Learning Support Assistant

20 hours per week

(hours to be worked across five days, mainly mornings, with a degree of flexibility to accommodate changing timetables each year)

 

St Michael's Term time plus INSET days (total 34 weeks pa)

 

We are looking to appoint a Learning Support Assistant who will assist and provide 1:1 support to a child with additional needs, currently in Year One, who will move through the school with them. We are looking for someone experienced in working with SEN children and with a particular focus on speech, language and communication needs, who is committed to helping provide an inclusive education and who is passionate about improving the outcomes for all students.

 

The successful candidate will be kind, caring and confident with the ability to quickly assess the child’s needs. You will need to work closely with the Teachers and the Learning Development Team to ensure that the child’s needs are met at every level. You will be able to follow recommendations from various health care professionals and incorporate these into the school day, feeding back to the Class Teacher, Learning Development Team and Pre-Prep Head when necessary.

 

The post is fixed term, meaning it will end when the child leaves the school. 

 

Level 3 CACHE helpful.

 

NVQ3 qualified salary is £9,336.72 per annum pro rata (£24,605 FTE)

Non-NVQ3 salary is £8,224.89 per annum pro rata (£21,675 FTE)

  1. These rates are applicable to those aged 23 or over, applicants below the age of 23 would have an adjusted salary in line with national minimum wage rates.
