As part of the IT Service department, the primary objective of this role is to deliver a high-quality support service to Turner Schools. This is principally a customer facing role based on site at the school. Therefore, excellent interpersonal skills and a focus on quality customer service are essential. Junior Technicians will typically operate as part of the larger team and will be expected to operate independently for level 1 and 2 support calls and BAU activities within the support service. 

The expected working hours will be defined in the contract, however, for guidance it will be between 8am-4pm. This role will be based at Folkestone Academy in Folkestone and may include occasional travel to other schools in the Trust. You will form an onsite team of 3 and benefit from being part of a wider Trust IT Department. You will spend the mornings in the Google Hub performing IT support. Afternoons will be spent in the Trusts reprographics department assisting the Trust Reprographics & Publications Manager. 

The successful candidate will have:-

  • A keen interest in IT with a willingness to learn
  • Ability to consult and communicate effectively with both written and verbal skills 
  • Excellent people skills 
  • Pragmatic and flexible approach to work
  • Attention to detail 
  • Experience of providing IT support in an educational environment (highly desirable)
  • The ability to work under pressure and to deadlines, retaining good attention to detail.
  • The ability to handle confidential information.
  • Good planning and organisation skills with the ability to juggle multiple demands.
