We have a new vacancy for a Head of Music at Upton Junior School. We welcome applications from Early Career Teachers and experienced teachers looking for a new challenge.  

Are you passionate about shaping young minds through the power of music? Upton Junior School is an ‘outstanding’ school in Broadstairs, Kent, that embraces the belief that every child deserves "One Childhood, One Chance." As a school with a strong history of academic achievement and a well-established musical reputation in the local community, we are looking for a dynamic and inspirational Head of Music to lead our thriving Music department. You will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on our children’s lives by contributing to the delivery of music lessons for all of the children in the school, as well as running a variety of musical clubs, including choir, rock band and many others as well as any that you wish to.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead and champion music education across the Key Stage 2 curriculum, promoting its significance within our school community and the broader local community.

2. Explore connections with local secondary school's music departments to further enhance the musical education we offer.

3. Bring your ambition for primary school music, organisational skills, and a strong musical background to continue to embed Music as a strength of our school and explore any new and exciting opportunities.
