Cover Supervisor

Kent Range 6 £23,801 - £25,262 FTE (£16,746.31 – £17,774.26 actual salary).

30 hours a week (8.30am – 3.30pm with 40-minute lunch break and 20-minute morning break unpaid), 39 weeks a year (term time only plus 5 training days).

An excellent opportunity has arisen at our school for a highly motivated, organised, and flexible individual to join our Cover team. The ideal candidate will be able to supervise whole classes during short term absence of teachers, ensuring learners continue to learn and make progress.

Essential requirements include:

  • Level 2 qualifications in English and Mathematics (GCSE level 4 or above or equivalent)
  • Previous experience of working with children of secondary school age
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office packages to a proficient standard.
  • Ability to apply behaviour management policies and strategies which contribute to a purposeful learning environment.
  • The ability to work well in a team and independently.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Must have the ability to work calmly under pressure and have the ability to adapt quickly and effectively to changing circumstances/situations.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of SIMS
  • Previous teaching experience

Information about the school

A mixed 11-19 co-educational High School of 1,000 pupils serving the historic market town of West Malling and surrounding villages. The school is set in pleasant rural surroundings and has its own lake and extensive grounds. It was completely re-built in September 2007 and therefore has outstanding facilities.

West Malling is close to the county town of Maidstone and has excellent rail links to London and Ashford International (for the Continent).
