The aim of this role is to promote positive emotional health and wellbeing in the students, and ultimately to enable them to bring about changes for themselves. In doing so, the young people will develop positive self-esteem and confidence in their own abilities and aspirations. At the current time when resources beyond school are so overstretched, we are looking to appoint someone who will be able to contribute to the wellbeing and welfare of our community in such a way as enabling us to keep therapeutic interventions within school whenever possible.

Information about the school

Newingate School is a specialist independent school for children with Autism and associated Social, Emotional & Mental Health needs. All students have an EHCP and are referred to the school by their local authority. The school is registered for 11-18 year olds and provides a personalised curriculum to meet each individuals needs via small class and sometimes 1:1 learning support.
