The highly successful and popular Business Studies and Economics department is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and dynamic individual to take the role of Head Business Studies and Economics so they can lead the department, starting from January 2024.

 

Purpose of the Job

The Head of Business Studies and Economics is responsible for raising student attainment and achievement within the curriculum area. They will take lead responsibility for providing leadership and management within their subject area, in order to secure:

  • High quality teaching
  • Effective use of resources
  • Improved standards of learning and achievement for all

 

The ideal candidate will be an inspiring teacher who is ready to step up and provide professional leadership and management in the Business Studies and Economics department. They will be able to deliver high-quality teaching, whilst effectively using a variety of resources and improving standards of learning and achievement for all students.  They will have up-to-date knowledge of subject curricula and assessment requirements for Economics & Business Studies, and by having this have a proven track record in academic success and curriculum innovation. A willingness to participate in Careers and Enterprise Education would be an advantage.

 

The successful candidate will be offered a full programme of support and development in order to continue to progress their career, supported by the Deputy Headteacher.

 

The main site for TWGSB is in Tunbridge Wells.  However, GCSE Business Studies will be taught at both the Tunbridge Wells and Sevenoaks campuses from September 2024 and the successful candidate may be required to work at both sites as needed.
