PSHE Subject Lead

Bower Grove are seeking to appoint a Personal Development (PSHE) & Careers Subject Lead teacher and warmly welcome applications from teachers who are; passionate about preparing young people so that they can play a full and active role in society and have the resilience and character to make the right choices to enjoy the fulfilling life they deserve.  You will need to share this passion with pupils to excite and inspire them, whilst supporting pupils to negotiate the challenges and opportunities of an increasingly complex world; understanding the wonderful opportunities available, but also how to manage the challenges and mitigate risk.

The post offers an outstanding opportunity for continuous personal and professional development for a highly motivated and ambitious teacher looking for career advancement. 

 The successful candidate will:

  • Possess strong subject knowledge in PSHE and be abreast of the current legislation and guidance
  • Be part of a forward-thinking department
  • Be part of our year 11 college carousel as part of the curriculum; attending and sharing post 16 experiences and opportunities.
  • Being able to initiate annual charity events and encouraging our pupils to be involved in organisations helping them to develop their life skills and becoming young citizens.

  • Be able to monitor and gain regular student feedback on PSHE curriculum and teaching
  • Have Qualified Teacher Status
  • Possess recent, relevant teaching experience
