Due to additional funding, we have an exciting vacancy available for a 1:1 SEND teaching assistant who is trained in either level 1 BSL or Makaton to support a pupil with a hearing impairment. The role will involve promoting the learning and personal development of the pupil and enabling the child to communicate with her peers and adults.

  • Either Level 1 BSL or Makaton trained.
  • Has previous experience working within a Primary School setting or primary aged children.
  • Is committed and passionate about helping children to learn, thrive and flourish.
  • Has experience of successfully working as part of a team.
  • Is committed to ongoing professional development.

Experience of working with children with SEND and key documents including EHCP's and personalised plans would be an advantage but is not essential. Training will be provided. Fundamentally, we are looking for a candidate who is kind, hard-working and who will work with the child's best interests at the heart of everything they do.

You will be contracted to work 27.5 hours per week, during term time only, 8.30-3pm.

The position commences as soon as possible. It is a fixed term contract until 31st August 2024 in the first instance.
