This is an exciting opportunity for an energetic and enthusiastic person to join us and lead our vastly experienced pastoral support team.

 The successful candidate will have line management responsibility for the pastoral support team, have pastoral oversight with a particular focus on KS4 and be a deputy DSL.

The role includes working closely with staff, students, parents, carers and other agencies. The ideal candidate will have a range of experience working with individuals and groups from a range of backgrounds, preferably, but not essentially within an education setting. They will be able to deal sensitively with situations, manage competing priorities and deadlines, keep accurate written records and have a flexible approach.

37 hours per week Term time only + 5 inset days, plus 3 weeks (flexible), to start as soon as possible.

Monday to Thursday 8am to 4:30pm and Friday 8am to 4pm

Salary Kent Range 9 (£30,358.00 - £34,291.00) (fte £32,485.00 - £36,693.00) plus SEN Allowance £1,422.52

A*- C grades in Maths and English GCSE are essential.

The Orchard School caters for primary and secondary aged pupils with social, emotional, mental health difficulties and associated learning difficulties. Recently judged Good by Ofsted, the PAN is 93. Our catchment covers East Kent although pupils also attend from outside the area.
