River Mill is looking to recruit a highly motivated learning support assistant.  This will be a  fixed term contract until 28th August 2024.

The salary will be Kent Range 5 £22,595 - £23,693 (to be pro rata'd) 

  • 8.30-3.15 pm Monday to Friday (20 mins paid break plus 30 mins unpaid lunch). 31 hours 15 mins per week, 38 weeks per year
  • Start date 3asap

The successful candidate will:

  • Support the learning and attainment of pupils with SEND needs
  • Promote pupils' inderpendence, self esteem and social inclusion in line with their specific SEND needs
  • Organise and supervise lunchtime activities and engage children in these activities.
  • Help support the children’s well-being in the class environment
  • Must have the ability to be flexible with their duties
  • Mnitor behaviour and ensure behaviour management is effective.
  • Prior experience of working with children with SEND would be preferable, but not essential
  • Need to work closely with the class teacher and other professionals to develop different strategies to enhance the children’s welfare.
  • Have lots of enthusiasm and patience for working with children.
  • Have experience of working with Early Years and KS1 children
  • Have Level 2 qualification in either Childcare and Development or equivalent
  • A positive, friendly and upbeat personality
  • Should be able to work well within a team
