We are looking for a teaching assistant to join our team, providing support to groups and individual pupils in the classroom.

We are looking for a teaching assistant who:

  • Has knowledge of the development children and school experience
  • Is adaptable and willing to learn/develop
  • Embraces innovation positively and with enthusiasm
  • Works well in a team but can also use their initative 
  • Strong levels of spoken and written English and Mathematics
  • Follow and adapt lesson plans.
  • Is able to prepare resources and teaching materials
  • Can liaise with the class teacher and other staff
  • Has a good understanding SEND and how to support pupils
  • Is patient, friendly and appraochable. 
  • Has consistently high expectations of pupil behaviour and achievement.
  • Wants to make a difference to the lives of our children.
  • Is creative, caring and can help our children to shine.
  • Buys in to our vision and lives it out! 

We can offer a busy and vibrant school, which is constantly moving forward, with great children and a very supportive team working in partnership with our local community.

We have four positions available:

  • Full time, 27.5 hours- Temporary TA in KS1

Pay: For all of these vacancies the full time equivalent pay is £19,293. This is then pro rata for term time only: 27.5 hours equates to £12,017.26 and 20 hours equates to £8739.82

The temporary vacancies are until August 2024, however if funding is available, these roles could be extended for another academic year. 

Candidates will be judged on both their capability for the post and their suitability for working with children. Good English and Maths skills are essential and candidates must have GCSE maths and English at grade C or above.

Woodchurch Church of England Primary School has 165 children on roll and is situated in the heart of the Kent countryside in the village of Woodchurch, 6 miles from Ashford and 4 miles from Tenterden. We are a school at the heart of the community, that puts children at the heart of everything we do. Our site consists of a mixture of Victorian and modern buildings.
