Ripplevale School Rochester is seeking an inspiring and committed Pastoral Leader.

It is our belief that all students have the opportunity to make progress but to do this they need to feel safe and secure in the surroundings.  Ripplevale provides a holistic approach that is child centred.  The provision includes a therapy team of SaLT, OT and Emotional Wellbeing specialists working in our caring and nurturing environment, alongside our teachers and support staff. 

We welcome Pastoral Leaders at any stage of their career, from mainstream or special education.

Ripplevale School Rochester is committed to recruiting talented, highly skilled professionals and we are looking for a Pastoral Lead who is able to:

  • track attendance and punctuality across the group providing students & parents support where needed
  • support the implementation of the school’s centralised behaviour policy to secure outstanding behaviour for learning including stepped consequences and positive recognition
  • support student wellbeing across the cohort
  • plan early intervention to ensure all students make outstanding progress
  • liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure students receive effective support
  • build positive and effective relationships with parents
  • support a tutor team to bring about positive outcomes for students
  • provide an excellent example as a role model
  • have an enthusiasm for new approaches and implementation of your ideas
  • be reflective practitioners with a ‘can do’ approach to teaching and a passion to raise standards
  • have the ability to support all children to explore and reach their full potential, and become well rounded, well balanced and confident people
  • demonstrate ambition, professionalism and are committed to further personal development
  • commit to working as part of a dynamic team of professionals both in and out of the classroom.

Salary NJC 5 (£22,369 to £22,777 FTE) Pro rata salary £19,185 to £19,535 per annum

Hours 37.5 for 39 weeks a year.

Information about the school

Ripplevale Rochester is an independent specialist provision for students aged 6 to 25 who have been diagnosed with various needs, which may include ASD, dyslexia, speech, language and communication difficulties, DCD, sensory, social, emotional and other learning difficulties along with high levels of anxiety. The school is set in an historic Medway town and enjoys the outstanding community facilities and links that the towns of Chatham and Rochester have to offer.

Ripplevale provides a holistic child centred approach to education underpinned by our team of 98 Teachers, Teaching assistants, Administrators and Therapists, all working in a caring and nurturing environment, with a common belief that all students have the opportunity to make progress and experience success everyday, in a safe, caring, nurturing and secure environment.
