We are seeking a caretaker to form a premises team of two.  We need someone to join our existing caretaker who is hands-on and likes to keep busy - this is an important, practical and physical role. Keeping the site safe and ensuring the school environment promotes good learning outcomes is paramount.

The role includes the upkeep of the outside area such as cleaning, emptying bins, grass cutting & hedge trimming. Inside the building, carrying out minor repairs/decorating, moving furniture, taking deliveries to their required destination within the school, minor plumbing such as unblocking toilets, as well as any other job required to keep the school running smoothly. The successful person would ensure that regular checks on the fire system are recorded accurately and that health and safety policies are followed. They will also liaise with contractors whilst on site.

Experience in a school environment is not mandatory, but manual labour or working in a trade such as carpentry, building or plumbing would be advantagous. However, on-the-job training will be provided.

This role is for 37 hours per week Monday to Friday. There is some flexibility with working hours for the right candidate.  This post involves working in the school holidays.

We require the successful candidate to start as soon as possible.
