Advert

Peninsula East Primary Academy has a vacancy for a Class Teacher to join their team from September 2023. We are a successful, thriving, and growing academy located in the beautiful village of Allhallows in Medway. If you would like to be part of a team that shares a strong belief that all students deserve a world-class education, then join us as we strive to offer our pupils the very best at their local community school. We want our students to leave our primary school as well-rounded, lifelong learners and global citizens that are ready for secondary school and beyond - and we know the importance of recruiting staff members who can bring this to fruition. We warmly welcome applications from candidates who have experience in Key Stage 1 and/or Key Stage 2.

At Peninsula East Primary Academy, we have already and will continue to:

  • develop many close links within the village and on the Peninsula that further enriches the curriculum offered to our children.
  • offer a wealth of co-curricular clubs for our children after school as we feel that it is important that they have the opportunity to further extend their knowledge and expand their cultural capital
  • deliver innovative teaching and learning through our broad, balanced and inclusive curriculum and have recently received the accolade of becoming a World School for the International Baccalaureate
  • develop our digital offer to our children. Our children in Key Stage 2 each have access to their very own Chromebook which enables them to take ownership over their own learning and means that they are able to challenge themselves further

The basis of this role is permanent and offers MPS/UPS dependent on experience. For the right candidate, there could be the possibility of a PYP coordinator role.

Information about the school

Working with us: Peninsula East Primary Academy is a small 1 form entry primary school in the beautiful village of Allhallows. We have at the core of our ethos the pursuit of the highest standards possible in education and we want to develop our pupils as well-rounded individuals and lifelong learners. We believe in high expectations, high aspirations, high motivation and high achievement for all. Our curriculum is tailored to each child as an individual and our pupils are highly engaged learners.

We use the framework of the International Baccalaureate to deliver the National Curriculum and we are now an official IB World school. As part of this, we are able to link with other IB schools within the UK and abroad. We focus on developing the learner profile attributes, which encompass the skills needed to ensure our children become confident and successful global citizens. We aim to build a community underpinned by international mindfulness, traditional values and social justice in which all members are equally valued. We are committed to ensuring the very best for our children in order for them to play a significant part in society and for them to be ready for secondary school and beyond.

We work closely within our community, having developed links with Haven holiday park, Slough Fort and Allhallows Church. We are also lucky to have extensive outdoor grounds as well as a Nursery provision. We are proud of our digital strategy with all of our children in Key stage 2 having access to a one to one device to further enhance their learning experiences.

In January 2020, the Academy received a rating of ‘Good‘ from Ofsted. 'Leaders have created an ambitious curriculum. Pupils experience a broad range of subjects that fire their interest. Teachers pay careful attention to what they teach when, and encourage pupils to think about what they already know. Leaders have worked diligently to make sure that all teachers have the knowledge to teach reading and comprehension well. A new approach to teaching phonics this school year has had a marked impact on pupils’ reading skills'
