After School Practitioner £10.90 to £11.24 per hour depending on qualifications and experience.

St James After School Club are looking for a reliable After School Club Practitioner. Responsibilities will include:

Setting up play equipment and making sure play areas are safe. Supervising children for fair behaviour during play and dealing with any minor injuries. Helping to developing planning and organising activities for 4 – 11-year-olds. Food preparation. Ensuring good standards of hygiene and cleanliness are always maintained. Contributing towards planning and preparation of craft activities and assisting children with these. Undertake such other equivalent duties and responsibilities as may be determined from time to time by the manager.

Qualities and Experience Required

Ideally (but not essential) you will have childcare experience either through work or personal experience. Be a lively enthusiastic self-motivated person. Get on well with and respect all children and adults. Have a good understanding of safety awareness. Must be willing to undergo initial and ongoing training.

The position is subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS check.

The following qualifications / skills or willingness to train is required. Training can be provided.

  • First aid.
  • Level 2 Food Hygiene.
  • Basic safeguarding.
  • Childcare qualifications.
  • Other training and courses, as necessary.
