Peninsula East Primary Academy has a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our team and provide support for pupils within our school. The successful candidate will need to have relevant experience and/or qualifications in working with primary-aged children. It may be required that the appointed candidate will also cover lunches and some classes as part of the role. We are also looking for the successful applicant to have a proven high standard of both spoken and written English and Mathematics. 

Being able to communicate effectively with children and adults is essential, together with a friendly and approachable manner. The successful candidate will be able to work using their own initiative and can demonstrate effective behaviour management skills. In return, they will join a supportive environment with plenty of development opportunities within the academy and across the wider Trust.  

This is a permanent opportunity and offers an actual salary of £15,920 per annum (£21,189 full time equivalent) based on 32.5 hours per week, Term Time + 1 week inset.

Working with us: Peninsula East Primary Academy is a small 1 form entry primary school in the beautiful village of Allhallows. We have at the core of our ethos the pursuit of the highest standards possible in education and we want to develop our pupils as well-rounded individuals and lifelong learners. We believe in high expectations, high aspirations, high motivation and high achievement for all. Our curriculum is tailored to each child as an individual and our pupils are highly engaged learners.

We use the framework of the International Baccalaureate to deliver the National Curriculum and we are now an official IB World school. As part of this, we are able to link with other IB schools within the UK and abroad. We focus on developing the learner profile attributes, which encompass the skills needed to ensure our children become confident and successful global citizens. We work closely within our community, having developed links with Haven holiday park, Slough Fort and Allhallows Church. We are also lucky to have extensive outdoor grounds as well as a Nursery provision. We are proud of our digital strategy with all of our children in Key stage 2 having access to a one to one device to further enhance their learning experiences.

In January 2020, the Academy received a rating of ‘Good‘ from Ofsted. 'Leaders have created an ambitious curriculum. Pupils experience a broad range of subjects that fire their interest. Teachers pay careful attention to what they teach when, and encourage pupils to think about what they already know. Leaders have worked diligently to make sure that all teachers have the knowledge to teach reading and comprehension well. A new approach to teaching phonics this school year has had a marked impact on pupils’ reading skills'
