TEACHER OF PE

Salary: Teachers Main Scale / Upper Pay Scale plus SENA

Grange Park is seeking to recruit a dynamic and inspirational teacher of PE to join our school.  The successful candidate with have an excellent subject knowledge and be able to contribute to continued improvements in progress and pupil attainment.

Grange Park School is an autism specific provision for children ages 8 to 19 located in a purpose built school in Wrotham for KS3, 4 and 5 and a satellite KS2 provision located in Stansted village 3 miles from the main school. 

Currently judged as “good” by Ofsted, we are ambitious and are well placed to becoming outstanding. We are committed to providing our pupils with the best possible learning opportunities and supporting them in their development.

Grange Park is part of KSENT a collaboration of 24 special schools in Kent. This includes CLASS the Collaborative Learning Alliance.  This creates numerous training and development opportunities, shared working practices and career progression.  

You DO NOT need experience in an SEN setting or ASC.  If you are a great teacher with a passion then we are the school for you.  We are happy to accept applications from teachers at any stage in their career and we can offer you the opportunity to progress within a supportive school environment.  We will also consider applicants for either a full-time or part-time role.  The school is committed to recruiting and developing the highest quality teachers in order to build on our many successes.

We encourage out of the classroom learning and experiences and you will be given the freedom to develop.

All our teachers are supported by the therapy team including Speech and Language Therapists and Occupational Therapists.   Pupils will also benefit from art therapy and counselling. Most of our teachers have joined us from mainstream settings and this post is suitable for those who may wish to develop their ASC practice.

Information about the school

Grange Park School is an autism specific provision for 8 – 19 year olds and has been accredited for over 9 years by the National Autistic Society (NAS), who highly commended our school. The school also achieved Advanced Status, which recognises the work we do as a school to support young people with a diagnosis of autism, in November 2020.

The Stansted Site opened in September 2019 following a £163;400,000 refurbishment modelled on the purpose built secondary site. The building is located in the pretty rural village of Stansted next to the village green.

Currently judged as “Good” by Ofsted, the school is very well placed to becoming Outstanding and is oversubscribed.

Class sizes at the Stansted and Wrotham sites are between 11-13 pupils with a teacher and 1-2 learning mentors.

At the Partnership colleges, Learning Mentors are supporting individual students or small groups of students aged 16-19 years in the college tutor groups / classrooms and out in the community.

The school offers comprehensive training in autism, exceptional CPD support and development opportunities through our Co-operative Trust of SEN schools.
