Dunton Green Primary School is looking to appoint a HLTA to start work in the school to work with teachers to organise and support teaching and learning activities for classes.

The primary focus is to undertake specified work with individuals, groups and whole classes under the direction and supervision of a qualified teacher.

Key duties and responsibilities include:

Assess, record and report on development, progress and attainment.

Use teaching and learning objectives to plan, evaluate and adjust lessons/work plans as appropriate with agreed systems of supervision.

Assess the needs of pupils and use knowledge and specialist skills to support pupils' learning.

Support pupils in social and emotional well-being, reporting problems to the teacher as appropriate.

We ask candidates to clearly identify in their applications their interest/specialism/experience against these aspects. We are willing to provide training and support an exceptional candidate through HLTA accreditation. 

The position will be 5 days a week, Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:00pm, 35 hours p/w, term time only. A part-time position may also be considered. Where appropriate, we would expect the successful candidate to attend all relevant staff inset training.

Salary is KR5 £22,595 (full time equivalent)

We are a friendly, one-form entry school. Our HLTA will work to ensure the very best outcomes for our children. We can offer commitment to individual professional development as well as working alongside a hardworking and committed team of teachers, support staff and leadership team.

Full enhanced DBS check and references will be required, and the successful applicant will need a health check and child protection training. Although the post is term time only, there is a requirement to attend a one-day inset every September for statutory safeguarding training.
