  • Do you have a belief and determination that you can make a difference?
  • Do you enjoy working with a creative curriculum?
  • Are you a highly motivated, inspiring or an aspiring teacher who can engage and support children to reach their full potential?

We are seeking to appoint an innovative and highly motivated teacher who is looking to thrive in our oversubscribed family school, which is judged ‘Good’ by Ofsted.  Our school is at the heart of a supportive Catholic community as well as being part of a Multi-Academy Trust, Kent Catholic Schools Partnership.  In our recent RE Denominational Inspection Report we were judged as ‘Outstanding’.

Stella Maris is a family school where we work together creatively to achieve the best outcomes for all our children, who are at the heart of everything that we do.

As an individual, you will be able to inspire our young learners, work with energy and enthusiasm and be a team player.  Along with having excellent communication skills and high expectations, you will be an exceptional classroom practitioner, holding a belief and determination that you can make a difference, to improve the life chances for all our children.

We can offer you an exciting, well-organised, vibrant environment with plenty of outside space in which to work.  Our team is experienced, committed and ambitious and will support you to work creatively to achieve the best outcomes for all our children.

We welcome applications from teachers that are Catholic and non-Catholic but who are supportive of our religious ethos.  The role is to start in September and will involve you working three days per week on a Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and is likely to be in KS1.

We warmly encourage you to visit our school so that you can experience everything that we have on offer and this can be arranged by contacting our Business Manager, Andy Gretton, to make an appointment or to ask any questions you may have on 01303 252127 or agretton@kcsp.org.uk

Closing date for applications: Tuesday 6th June at 9.00am

Interviews will take place: W/C 12th June 2023

Any offer of employment is subject to our Safeguarding checks, including satisfactory return of an Enhanced Disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service, references and a pre-employment health history questionnaire.

Information about the school

Stella Maris is a happy, family school that was judged to be ‘Good’ in every category by Ofsted in June 2023 and achieved 'Outstanding' in our RE Inspection in March 2023. We are a one-form entry Catholic Primary School, serving children from all over the Folkestone and Cheriton area.

We are an Academy and part of the Kent Catholic Schools’ Partnership. This allows us to work closely with other schools, sharing and learning from each other to continuously improve outcomes for all our staff and children.

We offer an exciting, stimulating curriculum and staff enjoy some outstanding CPD opportunities. We are lucky enough to be set in beautiful surroundings with lots of outside space with a woodland trail and fire pit area. We are nestled next to Lower Radnor Park, in close proximity to Folkestone Sports Centre. We have a warm, welcoming ethos, a problem-solving approach, and high expectations of all our children and staff.
