Learning Support Assistant working within the schools

Specialist Resource Provision for students with Autism

 

Salary: Kent Range 3 £21,293 FTE/ Pro rata £17,478.95

- 35hrs per week, 39 weeks (Term Time + 5 Training Days) – Start Date: 1st September 2023

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and committed Learning Support Assistant to join the autistic provision at Simon Langton Grammar School for Boys. The committed individual will work under the guidance of the SENCO to assist in the educational and social development needs for students with autism.

Experience of working with young people aged 11-18 with additional needs, specifically those students diagnosed on the autistic spectrum, is desirable but not essential.  The candidate must show an understanding of autism and demonstrate the ability to work in a way that promotes the safety and wellbeing of children and young people.

The successful candidate will develop positive relationships with students, parents, staff and agencies to help support our students to reach their potential. They will need to be a motivated individual, who is both able to work independently as well as within a team. A friendly and positive approach to teaching and learning is necessary, with the ability to engage with and embrace a range of subjects.  You will be working in an outstanding school, where there are opportunities for development and advancement.
