Horsted Junior School is a 'good' school that is ‘a reflective, up-beat and outward-looking community’ (Ofsted 2018).  

We are looking to recruit an excellent practitioner to join our dedicated team from September 2023. The successful candidate will be dynamic and enthusiastic, but above all, will have an uncompromising passion for teaching, and the relentless drive to ensure all children excel. 

The successful candidate will have responsibility for teaching small group maths and reading lessons alongside interventions in year 6. It is a part time post (0.5) ideally working between the hours of 10 and 2. However, hours are flexible and can be negotiated.  

Suitable for all MPS/UPS teachers. This job is not suitable for ECT candidates. 

We are looking for someone who: 

  • has a good knowledge of KS2 greater depth mathematics; 
  • has high expectations and aspirations for themselves and the children they teach; 
  • shows commitment, enthusiasm and initiative; 
  • is approachable and nurturing; 
  • understands the importance of working in a team and the positive impact this can have on learning and progress for all children; 
  • contributes to wider school life and understands the importance of being part of a community; and 
  • is willing to learn and take responsibility for their continuous professional development.
