Barton Junior School is looking to appoint a motivated, proactive and enthusiastic individual to join our staff team. The position would suit individuals that have a passion for working with children and are looking for a stepping stone towards a future career in education.

Salary: Kent Range 5. £22,595 per annum (£17,222 pro rata) with progression to £23,693 per annum (£18,059 pro rata).  32.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year. Annual leave is not to be taken during the term and will therefore be paid in addition to salary.

You will be required to work Monday to Friday, term time only 8.30am – 3.30pm.

The successful candidate should be educated to A Level or equivalent and must have a minimum of 5 GCSE’s at grade C/4 (or equivalent), including Mathematics and English. Certificates will need to be shown at interview or upon appointment.   

Study Support Managers are classroom based HLTA's who support with every aspect of the education of our young people. 

Responsibilities:

  • To cover classes for teacher absence.
    • To cover classes for teachers PPA time.
    • To plan learning alongside class teachers.
    • Responsible for pupil assessment/progress charts.
    • Intervention work – manage, plan and deliver personal support programmes.
    • Administration and organisation of teaching and learning resources.
    • Under the direction of the teachers and subject co-ordinators to complete gap analysis across the School in their subject.
    • To manage the behaviour support plans on a day-to-day basis.
    • To be responsible for workforce reform tasks.
    • To use ICT effectively.
    • To assist with general organisation and preparation of resources and the learning environment.
    • To undertake playground duties in accordance with the timetable.
    • To undertake lunch duties as directed
