Leigh Academy Rainham are seeking to appoint a Safeguarding Officer to join them from September 2023. This is a truly exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and focused individual who wants to play a key role in working closely with academy staff to ensure student safeguarding needs are met and responded to appropriately. The successful candidate will be responsible for
achieving the highest possible levels of safeguarding and well-being for all pupils at Leigh Academy Rainham and therefore must be a dedicated team-player with a resilient mindset.

The Safeguarding Officer will be responsible for Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, which is defined as;

  • Protecting children from maltreatment
  • Preventing impairment of children’s mental and physical health or development
  • Ensuring that children grow up in circumstances consistent with the provision of safe and effective care
  • Taking action to enable all children to have the best outcomes.

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​This is a permanent opportunity working 37 hours per week, Term Time + 2 weeks inset with an actual salary of £24,682 - £28,287 per annum (£27,979 - £32,065 full time equivalent), commensurate with experience. The working hours are 8.00am - 4.00pm, Monday - Friday.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

Information about the school

Being part of Leigh Academies Trust: As of 1st September 2022, our Trust comprises 31 geographically organised academies (15 secondaries, 14 primaries and 2 special) educating 20,000 students, and employing 3,000 talented staff. The Trust is establishing four ‘clusters’ of academies: North Kent; Central Kent; South East London; Medway.
