You will be joining a well-resourced and popular department with a relentless focus on raising achievement. At present the Department teaches a full suite of Science subjects.  At Key Stage 4, AQA Triple Science is taught alongside AQA Trilogy combined science. At Key Stage 3 we offer a bespoke curriculum based on the AQA KS3 Science syllabus. At key stage 5 we offer A-levels in Biology, Chemistry and Physics alongside a Level 3 BTEC Extended Certificate in Applied Science. You will be supported within the department by the Director of Science, Key Stage leads for KS3, 4 and 5 as well as two highly experienced Lead Practitioners of Science.

As well as our state-of-the-art facilities, we have an exciting programme of trips, visits and extra-curricular activities.  Cornwallis Academy values positive and professional working relationships and seeks individuals who will support this ethos.  The successful candidate will be a creative and inspiring Teacher of Science who will have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status
  • A degree in a relevant Science subject
  • Possess recent, relevant teaching experience at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4
  • Be an outstanding classroom practitioner who can inspire students
  • This position is suitable for Early Career Teachers
