We are looking for a dynamic, friendly, calm and patient Teaching Assistant to provide general support within the classroom as well as providing support for children in small groups and 1:1.

The role involves working in close partnership with our Class Teachers and SENDCo, with an aim to achieve the best outcomes for our pupils. You will be working as part of a fantastic team of people who care and look after one another!

This post is for 30 hours per week, 8.45 a.m. - 3.15 p.m. (1/2 hour unpaid lunch break), Monday - Friday term time only.

We are looking for:

  • Someone who works well as part of a team, can take advice but also use their initiative when necessary
  • A commitment to the highest standards of learning
  • Relevant and recent experience of working in a school
  • Secure knowledge and experience of supporting children diagnosed with ASD would be most welcome, but not a necessity
  • An individual who is organised, efficient and flexible in their approach
  • A good level of English, maths (at least to Grade C GCSE/O' level) and a willingness to further develop and widen their own skills 
  • Proficiency in the use of ICT

The successful applicant will be required to supervise children at playtime and/or lunch time on a rota basis - an alternative break will be provided.

Archbishop Courtenay Church of England Primary School is an expanding 1.5 form entry school and a member of Aquila, The Diocese of Canterbury Academies Trust (www.aquilatrust.co.uk).

We work closely with our community, especially All Saints' Church, and have a PTFA which helps organise many events. PE and music specialists provide additional curriculum enrichment. All early years classrooms have their own, purpose-built outside learning environment. Our Pastoral & Wellbeing Manager offers highly effective support to our pupils and their families.
