We are looking to appoint some additional staff who can join our team of lunchtime supervisors and play leaders.  Lunchtime is just as important for our children as the structured, teaching part of the day and we are looking for somebody who can get stuck in and play alongside the children, offering support when needed and encouraging positive, active play making sure their lunchtimes are always happy, safe and enjoyable.  We are looking for people who have a warm rapport with children and can be confident and assertive, when needed, and able to respond quickly to any situation that may arise following our school policies and procedures at all times.  These roles will involve supervising the children indoors on rainy days and may also involve supervision of the children in the canteen or assisting the catering staff.

As with other roles in the school, this post involves regular contact with children and staff and therefore the successful candidate needs to be able to relate well to children and adults alike. A sense of humour is a MUST, as well as a ‘common-sense’ approach to the job and the ability to show initiative and adapt to any situation that may arise.

Ideally, in applying for this post you will have:

  • Empathy, kindness and compassion
  • Previous experience of working with children
  • Good literacy and mathematical skills
  • High standards of work ethic and self-motivation
  • Good communication skills- will be able to regularly liaise with other staff
  • Organised and can keep up to date records
  • Punctual and reliable
  • High standards of personal appearance and presentation

The role is for 5 hours per week in term time only between 12.00pm and 1.00pm.  You will be expected to undertake all necessary training related to this role; as and when requested by the Headteacher.  Full Job Description to follow.
