We are looking to appoint a part time Office Administrator to work Wednesday afternoons (12:00-16:00) and Thursday and Fridays all day (8:15-16:00 Inc. 1/2 hour unpaid lunch break). 18.5 hours a week. 

The position is pro-rata for 40 weeks of the year, term time only.

It is important that you maintain and uphold the following qualities and skills to effectively undertake the given tasks: 

  • good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate well with parents, staff and other visitors
  • computer skills with some finance would be advantageous
  • good organisational skills
  • efficient and proactive in task completion
  • time management skills and able to maintain deadlines
  • follow the school’s policies and procedures
  • competent with handling sensitive information and be able to maintain confidentiality and discretion at all times
  • ability to sort mail & email
  • inputting of data using Bromcom, Access People and other applications (training will be given)
  • managing aspects of the office as detailed in the job description
  • Assisting the Head of School in other varied tasks as and when required

The successful applicant will need to be flexible, efficient and able to work calmly and accurately under pressure, ensuring their role is completed to the right standard. Duties will include a wide variety of administrative and clerical tasks, reception and telephone duties, as well as working positively with staff, children and families. 

Previous experience of working in a school, as well as flexibility with time would be beneficial.

At Sandwich Infant School, we can offer a a welcoming, friendly and supportive school team, governing body and parents in a small school environment. Training for the job will be mandatory as part of our induction programme.

Sandwich Infant School is a two-form entry school housed in a Victorian building. We enjoy close links with the community, the church, local nurseries and Sandwich Junior School. We are part of Aquila, The Diocese of Canterbury Academies Trust (www.aquilatrust.co.uk) and are a member of the STAR (Sandwich Town and Rural) Alliance.
