Do you strive to make a difference to the place you work and the pupils you support?

Would you like to be part of a small, active, supportive and friendly team?

Are you an effective, inspirational and motivated person?

Yes?

Then, would you like to work in our small but lively village Primary School?

Our delightful four class village school needs a Site Manager/Caretaker.

The right candidate will be responsible for security, maintenance, repairs and some cleaning of our school site and grounds.  The candidate will also maintain our school gardens and allotment to our current high standards, working alongside our teaching staff and pupils.

We are looking for someone who will work well in our team but also be able to organise and manage their time well, showing initiative and flexibility when necessary.

The role involves such tasks as: unlocking (and occasionally locking) the school, ensuring good security of the site, maintenance and repair of the buildings and equipment, redecoration, ordering supplies and stock and keeping Health and Safety procedures and records up to date.

The role also involves being available at nights, weekends and holidays in certain circumstances eg. emergency call outs/weekend lettings or events.  These happen rarely but it is a commitment that is required.

The hours are 20 per week (at the beginning of the school day) for 52 weeks per year. Hours worked can be more flexible during school holidays. 25 days holiday leave a year; to be taken in school holiday periods.

The Salary is at Kent Range 3 (£21 293; pro rata for hours worked).

There will be a probationary period of 6 months in the first instance.

This school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Employment will be subject to receipt of satisfactory references, Criminal Records Bureau and ISA checks and health checks.

Informal visits to the school are strongly encouraged.

Applicants encouraged to send in a letter of application with the attached application form addressed to Lynn Paylor Sutton, the Head Teacher.  Please refer to the attached Job Description and Person Specification in your application.

Closing date for applications: Monday 5 June 2023

Interviews week beginning: 19 June 2023

Starting Date: 10 July 2023

Information about the school

Langdon Primary School is in the small village of East Langdon between Deal and Dover. The school is very much part of the community and links with other groups are strong. Our Governing Body and parents are exceptionally supportive of the school. There is a positive ‘family’ feel amongst our 90 children and staff; older children are encouraged to take nurturing and leadership roles in order to ensure that everyone is valued and younger children learn from their older role models. We have a very positive ethos for learning and we put high expectations of achievement and progress at the heart of what we do. The school had its last Ofsted inspection in January 2020 and received a GOOD grading and a very positive, accurate report.
