We are looking to appoint an Exams Officer to join our team at DGSB. The Exams Officer will be:

  • responsible for the organisation and smooth running of both internal and external examinations
  • acting as the primary liaison between the school and external examination bodies
  • familiar with the requirements and regulations placed on schools by both awarding bodies and the Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ) and will ensure that the school is compliant with these before, during, and after examination periods

The ideal candidate will be a highly organised multi-tasker, with excellent communication and an excellent team player.

You will be joining our school at an exciting time. Our new accommodation provides us with exciting, spacious teaching spaces and brand new facilities, all of which increase opportunities for students both inside and outside of the curriculum.  Our school motto of "Fiat Lux" - "Let there be light" - has never been more appropriate or fitting.

Applications should include a completed application form, either through Kent Teach or the one found on the DGSB website. If you have any questions, please contact the Headteacher's PA, Lizzie Reynolds, via email on lreynolds@dgsb.co.uk.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our students and expect all staff to share in this commitment. The successful candidate will be required to undergo appropriate child protection screening including an enhanced DBS check.

Non-contributory access to the Benenden Healthcare Scheme is offered.

Information about the school

Dover Grammar School for Boys is a selective school with a school roll of 800 students. Approximately 200 of these are in the Sixth Form. Girls are admitted to the Sixth Form.

DGSB is on a very exciting journey. Having retained our "Good " OFSTED designation, without condition, in October 2019, we are working hard on every aspect of what we do as we want to become even better. We moved into a £26m new school building in July 2022 and our new accommodation provides us with modern, bright, spacious teaching rooms, and has increased opportunities for students both inside and outside of the taught curriculum.

However, our success both in school – we recorded a fantastic Progress 8 score in 2023 of +0.57 - and within the local community means that we are already looking to expand our site and develop opportunities further.

DGSB is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our students and expect all staff to share in this commitment. Successful candidates will be required to undergo appropriate child protection screening including an enhanced DBS check. An ‘online presence’ check may be carried out before any appointment is confirmed. All appointments are subject to the receipt of satisfactory references.

Non-contributory access to the Benenden Healthcare Scheme is offered to successful candidates.
