Hours:             Monday-Friday 8.00am-4.00pm (Term-Time only, 39 weeks)

Salary:            Teachers M-Scale 1 to 6 (Fringe)

Starting:          September 2023

A 12-month Fixed Term Contract with potential for future permanent employment.

We are recruiting for a talented and inspiring Teacher of English to join the school from September 2023.  You will be a valued member of the core subject team as well as supporting pastorally in a Tutor group and providing one-to-one support sessions with students.

Our successful candidate will be passionate about their subject with the ability to motivate and support students as well as being creative, well organised and able to deliver dynamic lessons to a diverse range of students.

A secure knowledge of English Skills along with a good awareness of current English GCSE and Functional Skills specifications would be advantageous. Experience of SEN/SEMH related strategies and programmes would be welcomed.

All of our learners have EHCPs and as a school we are proud to promote the development of life skills and social development as equal to academic achievement.  West Heath School work towards the end goal of helping students re-integrate into mainstream learning and preparation for adulthood.

We provide a therapeutically informed learning environment for children aged 10-19 who have suffered some form of trauma and are unable to access main stream education.
