A rare and exciting opportunity has developed at Hampton School for a highly skilled and inspirational Deputy Headteacher. This is a non-class based position and the successful applicant will be joining a team of determined and committed staff.

This position will be perfect for a leader who has a proven track record of supporting quality teaching and learning, school improvement and leading areas having significant impact. Due to the strengths and diversity of our SLT team we have the flexibility of finding the right candidate who can bring expertise and passion in a range of areas. KS1 and Early Years experience is desirable.

Our Deputy Headteacher will:

  • Be a highly effective classroom practitioner across the primary range, who is able to inspire and motivate others  
  • Share and promote Hampton’s passion of inclusion and wellbeing of all  stakeholders
  • Be dynamic and forward-thinking, demonstrating a passion and determination to lead areas of priority at Hampton ie attendance, mental health and wellbeing, pastoral care and safeguarding
  • Be a confident, caring and inspiring communicator who engages with all stakeholders building strong relationships across the school community

Information about the school

We are a large and successful primary school, which converted to a stand alone Academy in April 2012. We operate under Hampton Collaborative Trust allowing the freedom to grow and develop with our community needs at the forefront of all decisions.

We are an inclusive, caring and constantly improving school with an exceptionally strong collaborative staff team. Our current roll is 670 children with 3 classes per year group, group teaching in KS2 to facilitate smaller class provision, a purpose built on-site nursery and a strong Well-Being Team, FLO, Play Therapist and Emotional Well-Being practitioner to provide the support and nurture for our most vulnerable children.

We are in the process of creating an additional learning environment for identified children typically with EHCPs to support their access to the curriculum as well as supporting their emotional and social development.

Our current SEND is 15% and we are constantly signposted within the local authority for our excellent SEND provision. We are also incredibly excited to be in the process of developing an ASC SRP provision to further support and nurture our SEND children.
