Class Teacher MPS/ UPS (Plus SEN1)

We are looking for a highly dedicated and enthusiastic primary and secondary class teachers` to join our improving and forward-thinking special needs school. 

If you are a teacher currently working in mainstream but looking for a something a little different this could be for you. 

We have very high standards and aspirations for our children. We are focused on each student achieving their individual potential rather than phonics screening or SATS results. The aim of our curriculum is to ensure that students are well prepared for life beyond Wyvern, this includes their self-care, communication, independence, social skills as well as English and Maths

If you are a creative Teacher with expert knowledge of differentiation to meet the needs of children with SEND or a love for real life interactive teaching strategies, we would love to hear from you. 

Team work is essential in all of our classes and successful applicants will work as part of a supportive team.  This includes your class team of LSA / MTA / HLTA staff and the wider key stage and school team. 

We have an established effective programme of supporting Early Career teachers with a passion for SEND. A 3rd July start considered for a successful ECT applicant. 

Visits to the school are encouraged. We are holding a Visits Morning for potential applicants on Tuesday 25th April (9.30- 11.30). This will be an opportunity to tour the school and spend some time with one of our class teams. Any visitors to our Visits Morning will need to bring their DBS and photographic ID.

The Wyvern School is a large, dynamic, forward-looking school, with the aim of helping to shape best practice for pupils with complex needs. The school caters for 350 pupils with severe, profound and complex needs including autism.
