We are excited to be recruiting for a highly-inclusive, experienced, passionate, and innovative and teacher to work in our Enhanced Specialist Teaching Arrangement (ESTA) from September 2023. Our ESTA is a specialist provision for pupils who have Education, Health and Care Plans; the primary need is Communication & Interaction, although we also support visually- and hearing-impaired children.

Across the whole school, 34 children are able to access the ESTA provision through their EHCP. There are currently 18 children who spend at least 50% of their time accessing a highly-adapted curriculum in the provision, supported by a skilled and experienced team; the ratio of adults to children is approximately 1:3. Our aim is for all children to be included in their mainstream classes as much as possible, and our lead ESTA teacher will use their knowledge and skills to support class teachers as required. Some children, due to a higher level of need, stay in ESTA for the majority of the week.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is passionate and committed to meeting the needs of all children through personalised and stimulating learning experiences
  • Has experience of statutory processes for children with EHCPs – e.g. provision plans and annual review meetings
  • Can inspire and lead an enthusiastic team, working positively and flexibly
  • Has knowledge and an interest in current research to best support the practice and interventions for SEND children
  • Has a high level of emotional intelligence, with excellent interpersonal skills to communicate with children, staff, parents and other professionals.

Due to the unique nature of this role, you must have a vision and desire for mainstream inclusion, and recent experience working with children with additional needs. The role would suit a practitioner who has experience in teaching in a specialist setting, and would like to progress in their career and have the opportunity to use your skills in a mainstream primary school.

We are proud to be a Nurture UK school and expect our staff to uphold these principles at all times. Our reputation for inclusion brings a diverse range of additional needs to our classes, all of which are supported with our amazing team of support staff, with most classes having at least two TAs. This commitment and love for inclusion makes Bromstone such a rewarding and fun place to be; our highly experienced team are here to ensure our staff and children enjoy and succeed every day. Our vision - Dream, Believe, Achieve - resonates through all aspects of our school.

We welcome and encourage informal visits to the school; please contact the school office to make an appointment. Due to the experience we require, this role may not be suitable for ECTs.
