We are seeking to appoint a friendly and methodical administrator to join our organisation from June 2023 until June 2024, subject to review, to cover the maternity leave of our Administrative Officer. This post is for 37 hours per week, Kent Range 5 (£22,595 to £23,693) pro-rata, depending on experience. Working hours will be Monday to Thursday, 8.15am to 4.15pm and Friday, 8.30am to 4.00pm, term time only.

The post holder is required to work 39 weeks per year. In addition, the postholder will receive a payment in respect of their pro rata entitlement to Annual Leave appropriate to their grade, Bank Holidays and the KCC concessionary day. 

The post holder will be responsible for a variety of administrative tasks and will initially be based at the Ifield School Sixth Form Provision (LINK Centre) based at North Kent College, Gravesend campus in Lower Higham Road, Gravesend.

The successful candidate should possess GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent), Grade C or above. They must be flexible in their approach to work, self motivated and be able to prioritise their work effectively in order to meet deadlines. They will also need to possess good interpersonal qualities, strong communication skills and be computer literate with a sound knowledge of Microsoft Office and strong excel skills. Knowledge of SIMS.net and previous experience of working in a school environment would be advantageous, although not essential as training will be provided.

The candidate must have:

  • GSCE Maths and English (or equivalent) grade C or above (you will be required to produce original certificates)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills,discretion and ability to use own initiative and prioritise workload
  • Patience, understanding and resilience to work in a Special School Provision
  • Enthusiastic and passionate about supporting and working with students with severe and complex needs

Ifield School is a special school for children and young people with profound, severe, and complex needs. Almost half of all our pupils have a diagnosis of autism and speech and language difficulties whilst some have complex medical needs.
