Whitfield Aspen School presents an exciting opportunity to work as part of a busy, forward-thinking inclusive primary school.

The purpose of this role is to manage the SMILE (Supporting Multi Agency Inclusive Education) Centre & provide effective support to the District schools & settings as part of the Dover Specialist Teaching & Learning Service (STLS) Team.  SMILE has a remit for providing training to any agency for the purpose of improving outcomes for pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) as well as being operated for the benefit of the community.

The successful candidate will have some experience of managing a small budget & be confident in report writing & liaising with colleagues at all levels within an organisation. The chosen candidate will have an overarching passion for wanting: ALL children and young people within the district to thrive, learn & be successful. Having skills which will help run SMILE, day to day, will be important – like being organised & approachable, as well as having the ability to raise orders & complete reports.    

Candidates should possess excellent interpersonal & organisational skills, be confident in communicating with a range of professionals & the general public, be able to work using own initiative as well as having excellent transferrable skills. Candidates will need to be able to have some flexibility in their working hours to meet the needs of the role.

Free before & after school care is available for the successful candidate if they have children at Whitfield Aspen School.

Qualifications to include English and Mathematics with minimum GCSE Grades A* - C or equivalent, or other qualifications that prove the ability to learn, coupled with strong ICT skills, are desirable.

Start date:  June 2023

35 hours per week, five days per week - Term Time only contract. Weeks paid/year 43.892.

Salary: Kent Range 7 £25,378 - £28,466 (pro-rata to FT equivalent)
