The children, staff and Governors at Newington Community Primary School are looking to appoint a full time teacher to cover maternity leave. The post will mainly involve teaching PE across the school from Nursery to Year 6  The right person will be adaptable and passionate about ensuring that all children get the very best out of school PE and the opportunities that we offer. 

They will build effective relationships with all children across the school, show great interpersonal skills to ensure that behaviour is managed effectively and involvement in PE is high for all. The right candidate will lead a small team of support staff to ensure that PE and school sport is inclusive for all and children feel well supported to make good progress across a range of sports. A qualification to teach swimming would also be desirable. The school is an active participant of the school passport scheme and leaders are keen to ensure that children participate in sporting events to represent our school community. 

In return we will offer energetic and friendly children who enjoy PE. A well resourced school with extensive grounds. Established ways of working to ensure that time spent on organisational aspects of the subject is minimised. PPA cover to ensure that PE is well planned and assessed across the school and leaders who support the development of whole school sport. 

This post is for an experienced qualified teacher and is not suitable for an ECT. This post will be offered on a fixed term contract of one year to cover the maternity leave of a current member of staff.
