We are seeking to appoint a Forest School Leader who is a motivated and enthusiastic professional.  We would expect the suitable candidate to be able to provide weekly, 2 hour sessions for each of our Year Reception classess and 1 session a week for a Year 1 and 2 class on a timetabled basis.  For the additional time, we would want to provide nurture sessions for smaller groups of children.

St Mildred's Primary Infant school has a friendly and supportive staff ready to welcome you to our school team.

We would encourage candidates to visit the school prior to application.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be calm
  • Enjoy working with children
  • Have a high level of education with a Minimum of 5 GCSEs at Grade C or above, including English and Maths, or equivalent.
  • Have a NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in leading Forest School.
  • Be able to model good spoken English
  • Be flexible and able to multi-task!

A formal 30 minute interview will take place with a panel comprising of members of the Leadership Team.  Candidates will also undertake a 30 minute Forest School activity with a group of children.

The post is for 28.75 hours per week (Monday-Friday) 9.45am - 3.00pm, term time only.  The pay scale is Kent Range 5 at £20,595 for a full-time position, which equates to approximately £13,471 pro rate per annum for this role.

St Mildred's Primary Infant School is a Co-operative Foundation Primary School which believes strongly in the Co-operative ethos. As part of Thanet Endeavour Learning Trust we work in very close partnership with Bromstone Primary School with whom we are federated, and with Garlinge and Parkside Primary Schools. We share our Executive Headteacher with Garlinge, Bromstone and Parkside Schools.

St Mildred's has a well developed creative curriculum, which provides our children with exciting opportunities for learning, both in the classroom and in the wider environment. We place high value on the Arts and outdoor learning; we have established a Forest School in our grounds. Our staff are friendly, enthusiastic and very committed to providing the best education we can for our pupils
