Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant

Do you have experience of supporting teaching and learning in a primary school, working with Key Stage 2 children? Do you have a positive outlook and a good sense of humour? Are you an enthusiastic and compassionate individual who can show initiative and enjoys working with children? We are seeking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to work as a class TA with one of our KS2 classes and you could be just the right person for the role!

We are looking for the right person who will:

  • Work in partnership with our Key Stage 2 teaching team to meet children's needs
  • Deliver high quality learning support to enable children to make steps of progress across the Key Stage 2 curriculum, including through interventions
  • Provide opportunities to develop children's play and social skills in recreation times
  • Be organised, flexible and willing to use your initiative in order to meet children’s needs
  • Have a positive outlook, with a good sense of humour and high expectations of our children.

We are looking for candidates who can support the positive caring ethos of our school and who have the qualifications, experience and willingness to form and sustain positive relationships with children and staff, and be flexible in their approach to meet our children’s needs.

Candidates must have experience of supporting teaching and learning in a primary school setting.

Candidates must have the minimum qualifications of 5 GCSEs with a good pass including English and Maths, and/ or NVQ Level 3 or above. Experience of working with children with SEND would be beneficial. The hours are 8.45am to 3.15pm, term time only.

The school is situated in a popular residential area, just outside the main town of Dover. The school is fully inclusive and attracts children from the local community. The school roll is approximately 420 with children organised into fourteen mixed ability classes. We also have a Specialist Resource Provision class for 12 children with speech and/or language impairments. These children spend much time each day in their mainstream class with their peers. We are fortunate to have a vibrant and energetic staff team who support each other fully, sharing ideas and best practice.
