An exciting opportunity for a Lead Early Years Educator to join the team at Chiddingstone Nursery School CIO, a unique setting in the grounds of Chiddingstone Castle close to Tonbridge and Edenbridge.  

We are seeking someone who is a natural and passionate early years educator. You will be an inspirational leader who will enable the team to deliver excellent care and opportunities for children to learn. You will engage with parents and carers to build their trust and support, listening to their needs and building the childcare provision available to them. As the lead of a charity-lead, village setting, you will also have an ability to build relationships with the wider community, embedding the nursery as the go-to for young families in the area. 

The successful candidate will join a friendly, welcoming and experienced team of staff at the highly respected nursery. You will work alongside the nursery business and finance leader who will manage the administrative running of the nursery and you will both report into the trustees. 

With a history of outstanding provision and an OFSTED 'Good' Chiddingstone Nursery School CIO is well established. You will have the intuition to respond to the developing needs of families in the local community. Your enthusiasm will drive the setting forwards, you will bring new ideas and develop opportunities for it to grow. The nursery is open term time only and supports children over the age of two.

You will have two years post-qualifying experience and a sound understanding of child development and children’s needs. You will possess an ability to plan and implement the curriculum in accordance with the Early Years Foundation Stage, taking into account the Special Educational Needs and Disability Code of Practice. You will have a strong knowledge of the OFSTED framework. You will be the OFSTED nominated person and the safeguarding lead at the setting.

Information about the school

Chiddingstone Nursery School CIO is a long-established non-profit making charity run by a Management Committee. The nursery is based in a converted stable block within the grounds of Chiddingstone Castle situated in the rural village of Chiddingstone, Kent. The nursery is open Monday to Friday from 9.00am to 3.00pm for 38 weeks of the year, for children aged from 2.5 to 4 years.
