What we’re looking for?

  • English teaching experience – familiarity with the GCSE curriculum
  • Ideally one years teaching experience minimum. We pride ourselves in supporting those new to teaching and are open to giving further development through our Teacher Academy.
  • Enthusiasm, positivity, and empathy in inspiring students 14-16 years old.
  • Good class management skills.
  • An understanding of creating and delivering a bespoke programme.

What will you be doing?

You’ll be teaching, inspiring, and facilitating a high-quality learning environment, to a small cohort of students at our Junior College. You’ll be supporting learners to enable them to achieve their maximum and access an appropriate vocational programme, when they’re ready.

About You

The ideal candidate will be highly organised, creative and be able to plan and teach engaging lessons with demonstrated interpersonal skills to support our 14 - 16yrs old learners in our innovation Junior College, where learners access a vocational education with emended GCSE maths and English. Assessing, high quality feedback and tracking student progress, is key to the student experience is vital part of the role and ensuring all students develop the skills they need to succeed.

Ideally you will be an experienced English teacher, although motivation and enthusiasm for English and teaching and learning is more relevant. Familiarity with the GCSE English curriculum, especially AQA would be an advantage. You must have a positive outlook, be empathetic towards learners and their needs and have good class management skills.
