We are looking for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our team.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Good standard of education with strong Literacy and Numeracy skills (GCSE English and Maths essential)
  • Strong ICT skills
  • The ability to take responsibility for small groups, supporting children on a one to one and whole class teaching cover/PPA.
  • Evidence of excellent communication and interpersonal skills

The successful candidate will also be expected to take a part in lunchtime activities and supervision (on a rota basis). 

 YOU MUST HAVE THE HLTA QUALIFICATION (or equivalent) TO APPLY FOR THIS JOB

Shortlisted candidates may be observed working with children as part of the selection process and will be expected to have visited the school prior to interview.

 

Candidates must have a HLTA qualification or equivalent, experience of working with children from Foundation Stage to Year 6 and experience of taking a whole class.

HOURS OF WORK - 8.30 to 3.30, 5 days per week (until 4.00pm on a Wednesday)  TERM TIME ONLY PLUS TEACHER TRAINING DAYS

Information about the school

We are a small, friendly, village primary school with 120 children taught in 6 classes. Our rural location just off the A28 between Ashford and Tenterden means we serve families from the village and the wider area. We have received a Good grading in our most recent Ofsted inspection (June 2023).

Our large site has extensive grounds, which includes a gardening area and large playing field.

We have a friendly, dedicated staff who work seamlessly together as a team, ensuring our children excel through a focus on quality first teaching and pastoral support.
